BEING hard of hearing, but with deaf aids, I started to watch television, but because of the background music I couldn’t follow the dialogue, not able to lip read, I switched the set off, so I went down to the local for a pint and a chat, laugh with the lads. Then someone put the music (noise) on, so that stopped the conversation for me, though I’d go out and do a Harvey Wallbanger, or drink up and go home, chose the latter it being less painful.
