A RECENT refugee from your northern winter left me a copy of the Advertiser after a visit here in Western Australia.

After they had thawed out we had a good talk on what was happening in Swindon.

I enjoyed the read of the paper but I had one query. Do people still sail model boats on Coate Water like we did as young lads?

Also is the book ‘Bevis. The story of a boy’ in print anywhere? No luck here and I do not have an author. The book is the story of several boys who lived around and sailed and swam on the Coate Water.

Pity us in the heat wave 38c today.
