IN response to Gregory Jackowski’s letter (March 6) unfortunately I don’t think the government are going to abolish prescription charges just yet. Cancer patients have only just become exempt from paying. I’m sorry to hear that you have been ill but taking all your medication is important.
If you obtain a HC11 form available from some pharmacists, the leaflet explains who can get free prescriptions.
If like myself you’re not entitled then you can still apply for a pre-payment card which is much cheaper if you are taking regular important medication. I’m a nurse and I still have to pay charges. It does work out cheaper £104 annually or £30 every three months. You will then be able to afford to pay some of your other living expenses. I hope this information helps. I have a pre-payment card myself.
