Letter from Brenda Dore

Re letter from Debra Spindler and the follow-up from J Adams.

I wonder if J Adams has ever been to Austria or are his/her cynical remarks made because he/she enjoys making fun of others.

I am in total agreement with Debra. We have been to Austria many times and it is an education to see how clean the Austrians keep their towns and villages. The shopkeepers are out early every morning making sure their pavements are spotless. You do not see litter or cigarette ends on the streets. They take a real pride in their environment. The trains, buses and pleasure boats all run to time even liaising one with another. It is a pleasure to be out at night without the threat of abuse from local youths who instead give you a warm greeting.

The “millions of immigrants flock here”, because we are a soft touch which is why our country is overcrowded and standards have dropped.
