I would like to point John Fell in the direction of North Africa, Egypt to be precise and the tragic deaths of 73 fans as a stark reminder that football is just a game, not to be taken too seriously.

The old football clichés of passion and commitment just don’t wash with me and are becoming rather tiresome to me in their ubiquity.

We will be much better with Di Canio in the dugout coaxing and cajoling great performances from his players rather than banned and in the stands.

Paolo, if you want to carry on wildly gesticulating, may I suggest a game of charades?
