SECTION 14-THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES, FOOTPATH CLOSURES AND TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following temporary orders: (STR0000121 Thamesdown Drive, Swindon) This Order is being introduced to allow major resurfacing works at major junctions off Thamedown Drive and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Thamesdown Drive at a speed exceeding 20mph, overnight road closures on Thamesdown Drive at the junction with The Orbital Centre and Haydon Brook Bridge Northbound carriageway and day time side mad closures at Thamesdown Drive junction to Eastbury Way, Redhouse Way, Torun Way, Oakhurst Way and Thursday Street. Suspension of the bus lane (accessed via Manor Farm Roundabout) & Mazurek Way to allow traffic to access the retail car park. Alternative route to be signed accordingly to the section of Thamesdown Drive to be closed. The Order effective from the 1 March 2021 for 6 months but it is anticipated the traffic restrictions will be put in as and when required with advance notice given to notify drivers advising of the dates/times.
(STR0000124 Wootton Bassett Road and Marlborough Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced to allow waterproofing works to bridge and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on section of Wootton Bassett Road (off Mannington Roundabout) and Marlborough Road (off Coate Roundabout) at a speed exceeding 20mph as indicated by signs. The Order effective from the 1 March 2021 for 6 months but it is anticipated the traffic restrictions is only required as and when required. (TTRO 3075 PROWS WR11, WR12, WR35, WR41, Wroughton and WS3, West Swindon at South Leaze) This Order is made to allow construction works and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the above footpaths as signed. Due to construction works no suitable alternative mutes are available. The Order came into force on the 5 August 2019 for 6 months and was due to expire on the 5 February 2021, however permission has been given from the Secretary of State to extend the Order until 5 August 2021 or until works have been completed whichever is sooner.
