SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following temporary orders: (STRDDD157 Spring Gardens Swindon) This Order is being introduced to allow works to Spring Gardens Car Park and Paramount Building and will prohibit vehicles from parking on the limited waiting parking bays on Spring Gardens adjacent to the car park, western footway on Spring Gardens and footway between the car park and Travel Lodge. Pedestrians to use alternative footways. The is effective from the 12 July 2021 for 12 months but the restrictions will only be in place as and when the works are taking place. (STR000158 Whalebridge Car Park) This Order is being introduced to allow works to Whalebridge Car Park and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on College Street between Islington Street and Gordon Gardens and pedestrians from proceeding on the footways on College Street, Islington Street and Gordon Gardens around the car park. Traffic to be diverted via Edgeware Road and Sanford Street. Pedestrians to use alternative footways. The Order is effective from the 14 June 2021 for 12 months but the restrictions will only be in place as and when the works are taking place. (STR000179 PROW FP 2 Highworth) This Order is being introduced to allow installation of a new trunk water main and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath 2 Highworth between Pentylands Lane and junction with Public Footpath 3. No suitable alternative can be provided on the grounds of health and safety. The Order is effective from the 21 June 2021 for 6 months.
(STRDDD181 PROW FP 1 Highworth and FP 3 Hannington)
This Order is being introduced to allow installation of a new trunk water main and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath 1 Highworth and footpath 3 Hannington between Pentylands Lane, Highworth and Public Bridleway 4 Hannington.
Pedestrians will be diverted from the eastern end of the closure is northwards and then westwards and then northwestwards along Pentylands Lane to Public Bridleway 12 Hannington. Then northwestwards along Public Bridleway 12 to the junction with Public Footpath 3 and then southwestwards along Public Footpath 3 to the western end of the closure. The Order is effective from the 21 June 2021 for 6 months.
(STR000183 PROW FP19 Highworth) This Order is being introduced to allow installation of a new water main trunk from Highworth to Blunsdon and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath 18 and 19 Highworth from Bydemill Farm Lane to Hampton Lane (unclassified 3019) Hampton. Due to health and safety reasons no suitable alternative route can be provided. The Order is effective from the 21 June 2021 for 6 months.
(STRDDD185 Union Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced to allow service pipe repair and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Union Street outside property numbers 51-54. Traffic to be diverted via Prospect Place or via Stanley Street and Victoria Road. The Order is effective from 5 July 2021 for 6 months but it is expected works will take place between 5 to 7 July 2021.
