Here are some of the court cases heard recently by Swindon and Wiltshire magistrates courts.

Devizes: Jody Sidelnik, 39, of no fixed address has been jailed for 45 days after he attacked a police officer in Devizes. Sidelink denied the charge, but he was sent to prison because the offence was described as 'nasty'. He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation.

After initially pleading guilty to another charge of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, he changed his plea to not guilty, but was found guilty. He admitted damaging a Sainsbury's cashpoint machine and destroying the window of a Clarks shop and stealing a Royal Mail jacket.

He also admitted posessing cannabis.

Corsham: 47 year old Nicholas Hemburrow of Sandown Crescent has pleaded not guilty to breaching a non-molestation order made by Swindon Family Court. He had pleaded guilty. The case has been adjourned until February and he was given unconditional bail.

Calne: Joseph Bonner has been fined £220 and disqualified from driving for two months. The 44 year old from Comet Close was caught speeding in Luton, Bedfordshire. No plea was listed in the case brought by Bedfordshire police.

Trowbridge: An arrest warrant had been issued for Kelvin Osman, 41, who is accused of attempting to steal alcohol, including champagne, brandy and Jack Daniels from Morrisons in Chippenham.

Chippenham: Ann Jeffries, 46, from The Butts has been remanded on unconditional bail while pre sentence reports are prepared in her case in which she admitted being the owner of a dangerously out of control dog.

Her black Patterdale terrier injured another woman while it was out of control in Monkton Park.

Melksham: 38 year old Ryan Durrst has had an arrest warrant issued. He is accused of defacating on the walls, door and floor of a police cell. He is also accused of threatening words and behaviour towards a woman.

Marlborough: The case against Julian George of Hyde Lane has been discontinued. He had been accused of damaging a car while driving down Church Street in Great Bedwyn.

Marlborough: Lee Dean, 28, of Angel Yard has pleaded not guilty to carrying a blade in Baylie Acres. He has been remanded on bail until March for the trial, and has been ordered to keep away from a woman.

Semington: Felix Rooney, 43, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a female police community officer. He also denies stealing a bottle of Peroni lager worth £4.05 from the Premier Inn in Trowbridge. He also denies threatening a woman. He has been bailed until March.

Warminster: 42 year old James Taylor from East Street has been remanded on bail until March, tagged and under night time curfew, and ordered to stay away from a woman he is accused of causing actual bodily harm to. He is also accused of attacking a man. He has pleaded guilty.

Royal Wootton Bassett: Jenny Edwards, 41, of Cloately Crescent has had her case, in which she is acused of stealing £200 from another person, adjourned at the request of the defence in the case.

Chippenham: 45 year old Simon Lee Niblett from Clifton close has pleaded not guilty to drink driving. He was found guilty of being over the limit on Turf House Lane, Calne. He has been remanded on unconditional bail until later in January. He admitted driving with no insurance and MOT.

Warminster: Aydin Ascioglu of Princess Gardens admitted driving while disqualified and was ordered to do 120 hours community work in the next year. He was told to pay £95 to victims services and £85 costs. He was also banned from driving for eight months. He also admitted driving with no insurance.

Chippenham: Terence Hart, 38, of Wood Lane has been told to pay £150 compenstion after pleading guilty to stealing a table and six chairs worth £350 belonging to a woman. He also admitted stealing a bottle of Penguin Sands white wine worth £4.25 belonging to Sainsbury's. He was ordered to pay £4.25 in compensation.

Bradford on Avon: Bradley Funnell admitted jumping a taxi fare in Chippenham. The 21 year old from Kingsfield Leaze was fined £40, got costs of £35 and told to pay compensation of £20.
