1st Stratton St Margaret Scout Group offers a programme of fun and adventure for boys and girls from the age of 6 to well,, the young at heart'.

We meet at our own Stratton Scout HQ where we have a Beaver Colony for the 6 to 8 year olds, Cubs for the 8 to 10's and Scouts for young people aged 10 to 14. Phoenix Archer Explorer Scouts meet in Stratton and Highworth and is aimed at the 14 to 18 age group.

So what do we do? Anything!! Camping, hiking canoeing, sailing, flying, caving, climbing but in order to do all this you need to go through our scouting programme where we help you to develop physically and mentally to face all these challenges. We teach you to work as a team as well as developing your individual skills. Can you light a fire without a match and then cook a meal on it? Can you survive a night in the woods without a tent? Of course you don't have to be Rambo to do all this. We also offer a programme of art and craft, computing, first aid, cookingwell, anything!

So if you fancy joining in the fun and be a member of the biggest youth organisation in the world, contact Scout Leader Terry Shipp for more information - email Terry.Shipp@Wiltshirescouts.org.uk or phone 07725105575.

We'd also love to hear from adults who are kids at heart and want to help out. Leaders join in the fun too! I've just come back from a Scout skiing trip to Italy, an Easter camp in the snow, a night hike in the rain and I'm off to Switzerland in August with 70 Scouts and Guides from Stratton. Get in..

Did you know that you can also hire our hall? Big hall, small hall, kitchen, toilets, disabled facilities, big field, loads of tables and chairs. Idea for kids parties, meetings etc
