BEST-selling author and TV presenter Ned Boulting explores the agony and ecstasy of British cycling in his show Bikeology on Wednesday.

With plenty of new tales from the cycle lane, Ned will discuss his time at the 2017 Tour de France as well as the dramas afflicting the sport over the past year.

The Wyvern Theatre in Swindon will be the setting for his musings on the motivations that drive cyclists to test their endurance, and the deep-seated passions aroused by the sight of a simple pair of padded shorts.

From the humble commuter to the winner of the Tour de France, Boulting will take an off-centre look at what it means to ride a bike, drawing on his own underwhelming adventures in the saddle to his 14 summers spent hurtling around France in pursuit of the sport’s biggest names, including Cavendish, Wiggins, Froome and of course Armstrong.

He will plunge his audience into a breakneck descent through the history of the sport followed by a lung-bursting climb into the present day.

All two-wheeled life will be fair game, as Ned continues his search for the nation’s Number 1 Bikeologist.
