Join the rumble in the jungle as Swindon gets back to its roots with some new and old skool drum ‘n’ bass.

Doc Scott and MC Conrad will be headlining a Swindon rave, Razor Sharp Beatz, at Quasar, Havelock Square, on Saturday, August 30.

Mc Conrad was one of the pioneers of drum ‘n’ bass, capturing the ethos of the rave generation, after his first flirtation with hip-hop. He hooked up with LTJ Bukem and formed Good Looking Records. He also worked on Words 2B Heard, a project to bring together like-minded vocalists, musicians and producers to create original, technologically advanced dance tracks.

He was not only a popular vocalist for various crews, but also a producer on a mission to find the freshest and newest sounds and artists around the dance music industry.

Today is no different so, with a new string to his bow, called Con-Natural, he heads for Swindon with DJs Antix, Stockerz, B2B, Modesty, The Sound Technical, Dizzy Gee, and Random Lee, to perform at the Razor Sharp Beats.

Joint headliner in Quasar is Doc Scott, also known as Nasty Habits, who is owner of 31 Records and founder member of Metalheadz with dance music guru Goldie. Two of the most influential drum ‘n’ bass tracks in the industry are down to Doc Scott. They are Here Come The Drums which was released in 1992 and Shadow Boxing out in 1996.

Darkus Sound System will be on the scene working their technical wizardry and MCs in the main room are Flames, Chrissy B, XTC and SM.

Going Underground in the Blue Room at Quasar are the ReKap and Joo-cee Crew with their sound and light show. Also on the bill are DJ Dex, Fishboy, Spoon-E, Wasp, Sammy B, Static and the Mc is Chatty.

Tickets are £3 before 10.30pm and £5 after. – Flicky Harrison
