FANS of pop sensation Olly Murs are expected to go barking mad as he announced that he will play among the trees at Westonbirt as part of 20 outdoor shows across the country.

The successful pop artist, who shot to fame after a stint on the X Factor, will play Westonbirt on Friday, June 16 as part of Forest Live, the summer concert series organised by the Forestry Commission.

Since shooting to fame seven years ago, Olly has recorded four multi-platinum albums, produced four number one singles with record sales exceeding 10 million. His new critically acclaimed album 24 Hrs and his reputation as one of Britain's best live performers makes the date one hard to miss.

By holding concerts in places such as Westonbirt, the Commission hope to introduce new audiences to the wonder of the outdoors and all income generated from ticket sales will be spent on protecting, improving and expanding England's forests and woodlands.

Tickets, which cost £42.50 plus a £4.75 booking fee, go on sale at 9am on Friday, December 2 from the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400 or online from www.forestry.gov.uk.
