Take That and the cast of political musical Hamilton are among the performers starring in the Royal Variety Performance this year.

The line-up for the annual show has been announced with the award-winning British band set to take the stage.

Members of the Royal Family will watch as the cast of the historically-inspired hit musical Hamilton perform in the 42nd charity show.

Chart-toppers George Ezra and Rick Astley will also be on stage at the November event.

Comedian and Taskmasters star Greg Davies has been confirmed as host for the evening, which will air on TV in December.

Davies discovered that he is descended from a Welsh royal house on BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are.

He said that he would be hosting the Royal Variety Performance to please his royalist mother, and predicts that his efforts will not be successful.

He said: “I am delighted to host the Royal Variety. It is a role that I am wildly unsuited to and I will no doubt offend a great many people, but my mum has a voracious appetite for meeting members of the royal family and this seems a reasonable price to pay for the gift of life.”

Rhod Gilbert will be showcasing his comedy, as will the winner of Britain’s Got Talent, The Lost Voice Guy.

The star-studded evening will also feature band Clean Bandit and singer Andrea Bocelli.

Money raised from the show will go to the Royal Varity Charity, of which the Queen is patron, which seeks to help those in the entertainment industry in need of assistance or care.

Cirque du Soleil and the cast of the West End show Tina – The Tina Turner Musical complete the line up.

The evening of performance will take place on November 19 before being aired on ITV the following month.
