TALENTED youngsters from Swindon’s oldest performing arts school are currently rehearsing for an extravaganza of song and dance.
Tanwood Performing Arts will present the Best Of British, featuring more than 200 students from the school, plus England tap team Tap Attack, Empire Theatre Company, Danzone and guest West End performers.
The show will be held at the Wyvern Theatre tomorrow and Saturday.
Principal Pollyann Tanner said: “We touched on the show a little bit before the summer and put a few things together but we have been working very hard since the first week in September.
“We are pleased with how the rehearsals have been going – I came up with the Best Of British idea on the back of everything that went on in the summer.
“I think people are still in a very patriotic mood, so we’ve combined a bit of the Olympics, James Bond and the jubilee, through to old English things.
“I don’t really get nervous before a performance, we just rehearse and rehearse and rehearse, that’s all you can do, and do the best that you possibly can.”
Performances will be at 7.30pm on Friday, and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday. Tickets cost £10 from www.wyverntheatre.org.uk or 01793 524481.
