SWINDON College students who are studying Level 2 and 3 extended diploma in sports were taken to Bath University to tour the Olympic training facilities within the sports village.

As well as the tour, the students had their fitness tested through a number of tests which are designed for athletes of all levels.

The 45 students were tested for power, strength, speed, agility and cardiovascular endurance.

Course tutor Nick Howson said: “The students were really enthusiastic, they asked questions and they were all involved in the fitness testing.

“The trip was a great visit, we were there for about four hours and it gave the students a real insight into how high performance athletes train and the facilities they are able to access.”
