DETECTIVE Superintendent Steve Fulcher is to face a formal conduct hearing from Wiltshire Police following complaints made to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
A report by the IPCC ifound he has a case to answer for gross misconduct in relation to several breaches of PACE while interviewing Christopher Halliwell without a solicitor present or without having read him his rights and also for breaching the force’s media policy.
His method led to the discovery of both the body of Sian O'Callaghan and Becky Godden-Edwards, however no charges could be brought regarding Becky's murder due to the breach of PACE.
We want to know whether you think he did the right thing? Or should he have followed protocol and risked Halliwell refusing to speak?
We will run the ballot until 5pm tomorrow and reveal the results in the paper.
