AN ATTEMPTED arm robbery took place in Swindon in the early hours of Saturday.

The incident occurred on the grass verge close to the Transfer Bridges roundabout on the same side of the road as TK MAXX store, at 1.45am.

A man was walking home when he was stopped and called over to a vehicle, described as an orange Fiat Punto with tinted rear windows and black door strips removed. This vehicle may have also been fitted with a turbo as the engine made a distinctive noise.

The victim was called over by the front seat passenger who then grabbed him and threatened him with a knife.

The suspect then grabbed the victim's clothing and demanded money from him. The victim managed to break free and run away.

One of the suspects is described as a white male aged 17-21 years old, of a thin build with fluffy facial hair and short dark blonde hair.

He was wearing a black hooded top and white peaked baseball cap.

The second offender, who was driving the vehicle, is described as a black male aged 20-30 well built and muscular with short, almost shaved black hair and stubble on his face. He was wearing a round neck t shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Greg Farmery on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
