WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was the victim of a robbery.

The incident took place at approximately 5.30pm yesterday in Whitbourne Avenue.

The 16-year-old male victim was walking along the road using his mobile phone when he was approached by two men on bikes.

They cycled alongside him and grabbed the mobile phone from his hand.

The victim tried to get his mobile back from the offender and, in doing so, pushed him from his bike but was unable to get his phone back.

The two males then threatened the victim before cycling off in the direction of Bembridge Close with the victim’s phone.

The first male, who grabbed the phone, is described as white, skinny build, over 5ft 10ins, aged between 16-18, wearing a black puffa jacket with hood pulled up, possibly jeans on a black mountain bike.

The second male is described as white, more muscular in appearance, over 5ft 10ins, wearing a black waterproof jacket with the hood pulled up, also on a dark coloured bike.

Temporary Detective Constable Claire Watts, of Wiltshire Police, said: "I would appeal to anyone in the area to contact us immediately.

"There would have been many people around at this time due to the fact it was Halloween.

"This incident has left the victim very shaken up.

"All information will be treated in the strictest confidence."

Anyone with information is asked to contact T/DC Watts on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 111 555 where information can be left anonymously.
