FRY-UP fans can rejoice at the news that the nation’s best high street breakfast can be found on their doorstep – at supermarket giant Morrisons.

Customers in Swindon can now enjoy the best breakfast in Britain at the Morrisons cafe at Regent’s Circus after the chain store scooped a national food industry award.

Morrisons cafe won the accolade of best high street breakfast at the Menu Innovation And Development awards 2015.

The awards recognise the creative talents of menu development managers and chefs in the multi-unit and chain restaurant sectors of the food service industry.

Richard McCann, the general manager at Morrisons Swindon, said: “We’re thrilled that our store’s café has been voted to have the best British breakfast. It is testament to our strong menu, fantastic ingredients and helpful staff.

“Our café is extremely popular with customers. We hope that this award will encourage more people to stop by to try it out.

“Every day we see around 50-60 people come into the cafe for breakfast.

"The most popular item is the Big Breakfast, which has sausages, bacon, hash browns and beans - people can’t get enough of it.”
