WEATHER warnings remain in place across Wiltshire with strong winds expected today.

The Met Office is advising motorists to take extra care on the roads with the day starting with heavy rain.

Bus company Thamesdown Transport has apologised for delays in Swindon this morning caused by tail backs along Great Western Way caused by work being carried out at Bruce Street Bridges.

There were delays of up to 20 mins on the 16X service, due to delays at the Great Western Hospital, returning to its normal schedule by about 1pm.

A spokesman tweeted: "Apologies for inconvenience."

There were 53 properties across Marlborough and Hungerford without power after a tree fell and damaged electricity cables. 

They were reconnected by Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution.
