A NAME is being being sought for a family of sheep which graze alongside the panels at Sevor Farm Solar.

Eneco UK, the firm which has overseen the scheme in South Marston, has put a flock of sheep on the site, to live alongside 40,000 panels.

The firm is running a competition for the public to name the flock, with the winner being awarded a family day out to the Roves Farm attraction, in Sevenhampton.

Guy Madgwick, Eneco’s managing director, said he was keen to hear suggestions from the local community and beyond.

“It’s great to see the solar farm with life stock grazing and roaming round it,” he said.

“Just like the solar farm, we hope that the local community will embrace these new arrivals by naming them.

“We are very much looking forward to hearing the names and do hope that as many people as possible send us their ideas.”

The competition is open to people of all ages, closing to entries on June 26.

The solar farm, which opened last September, provides energy to the nearby Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd.

All entries, which must include a family name for the sheep and contact details, can be emailed to sevorfarm@eneco.com
