PALAEONTOLOGIST Dr Neville Hollingworth will deliver a talk on the finer aspects of the Middle Jurassic of North Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire at the Cotswold Water Park next month.
Dr Hollingworth, who has spent more than 25 years wallowing around in mud, will give the talk at the Gateway Centre in Spine Road, on Tuesday, November 3, at 7.30pm.
A spokesman said: "There currently are some excellent exposures of the Oxford Clay exposed on the floors and sides of drainage ditches in gravel pits within the Upper Thames valley.
"This talk will be a pictorial tour of some quite unusual sites, digging techniques, notable characters and chance discoveries that have made the national news."
The event is organised by the Cotswold Water Park Trust and will take place at the Gateway Centre.
Tickets cost £6 and £5 for members, and booking is essential. For further information visit www.waterpark.org. To book email events@waterpark.org or call Cotswold Water Park Trust offices on 01793 752413.
