TROWBRIDGE entrepreneur Jordan Daykin held a demo at KEW Electrical on Kennet Way, Trowbridge this week to celebrate the news that his multi-million pound business will soon be stocking the shelves of one of America’s biggest DIY store.
GripIt fixings, which is based in Commerce Way off the A350, was first founded by the 21-year-old businessman and his grandfather as a solution to a DIY problem when fitting a curtain pole to a plasterboard wall.
He has seen global interest in his business soar after securing funding from Dragon’s Den businesswoman Deborah Meaden and now his product will soon be sold at Home Depot in the USA, Australia and South Africa.
Mr Daykin, whose business is believed to be worth over £10 million, said with new things on the horizon, he was glad to go to KEW Electrical to show people that no matter how big the company gets, he will always consider Trowbridge home.
He said: “It was great to go down and see the display of GripIt fixings at KEW.
“It’s such a great achievement for the team.”
GripIt is stocked in over 5,000 stores across the UK and exported to 32 countries. For more information about the product range, visit www.gripitfixings.co.uk.
