POLICE have this afternoon confirmed three men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault on a man at a Halloween party.

They are also appealing for witnesses to the incident at Bottelino's Restaurant, Penzance Drive, in the early hours of this morning.

During the party a man was seriously assaulted. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Three men have been arrested. They are a 26-year-old man and two 28-year-old men - all from Swindon.

Det Insp Steve Kirby said: "We are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, either on the premises or in the immediate vicinity, in the early hours of this morning to contact us immediately.

"There were a lot of people at this party, so I believe someone would have witnessed the assault or anything else suspicious and can help us with our enquiries; if that is you, please come forward."
