FOLLOWING the mess his late twenties and early thirties turned out to be, what with a divorce and depression to boot, at 34 comic Carl Donnelly has finally found peace and happiness in a new relationship - incidentally at the age statistics tell us should be the happiest of our lives. But there is one hiccup: being happy doesn't sit well with the zen, vegetable-planting stand-up. And he is conflicted. Happiness is not conducive to comedy; or is it?

In Bad Man Tings he weighs the pros and cons of bliss.

An Edinburgh Fringe favourite, Carl’s style of comedy has landed him nominations for the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2013 and for Best Newcomer in 2009. The committed vegan also won Best Newcomer at The Chortle Awards and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year in 2007.

Carl Donnelly will be at the Arts Centre on Tuesday, February 7 at 8pm. Tickets are £15. To book go to swindontheatres.co.uk or call 01793 524481.
