THE future fortunes of Thamesdown Transport will be in young hands as the new general manager gets set to take control.
Alex Chutter joined Thamesdown’s new parent company, Go South Coast, as a graduate trainee in 2011.
The 27-year-old completed a 24-month training programme involving spells at a number of bus firms, including Go Ahead London.
More recently, Alex was staff manager at Morebus in Poole, before leading the team at neighbouring Salisbury Reds as operations manager.
Andrew Wickham, Go South Coast’s managing director, said: “We are delighted that Alex has agreed to take the reins at this very important time for Thamesdown Transport.”
“Since welcoming the firm to the Go South Coast family on February 3, we have been getting to know its existing team and of course its local customers.
“I have no doubt Alex’s leadership skills and experience will prove invaluable over the coming months and years as we work to grow Thamesdown Transport and make improvements to the services on offer here.”
Alex, who is in his late-20s, said: “I’m thrilled to have been offered this exciting opportunity, and I didn’t hesitate to accept.
“There are many challenges ahead but, having already had the chance to meet my new colleagues here at Thamesdown, I know they’ll work incredibly hard to make a success of our sustainable transport offering here in Swindon and North Wiltshire.”
