SHOPPERS in Haydon Wick can now pick up their groceries in a fabulously revamped supermarket.

Staff at Morrisons in Thames Avenue last week cut the ribbon on their new-look store following a three month renovation.

The supermarket now consists of a large foyer, a barista bar, a new larger pharmacy, a pizza counter and much more.

Community champion Claire Lockey, who has worked for Morrisons for the past 10 years, said: “The store needed a renovation because it was looking a little bit dated.

“We now have new shelving, new fridges and freezers – a complete makeover.

“It’s a nicer place to work and shop and customers so far seem to love it. Some are a bit confused with the change in the layout, but they have said how good it looks.”

Year 6s from Haydonleigh Primary School joined staff for the ribbon cutting.

Claire added: “I think the revamp be great for customers and the local community and it brings us in line with our newer stores in Swindon.”
