Venue: The County Ground

TOWN started the match in an upsetting way as midfielder Amine Linganzi got an early injury, which forced the manager to sub him off for Johnny Goddard.

Goddard made an immediate impact on the game, by fizzing a shot into the top corner which the Chesterfield keeper Joe Anyon did very well to keep out.

Five minutes later Anyon took too long clearing the ball only for Kaiyne Woolery to close him down, the ball rebounded off Woolery and had to be cleared.

In the 22nd minute former West Ham player Matty Taylor drilled a free kick just wide of the near post.

Soon after Harry Smith clashed heads with Chesterfield’s Sam Hird, the incident forced Smith to leave the pitch to be replaced by Luke Norris.

In the 30th minute Taylor whipped it into the box only for Norris to have his booming header cleared off the goal line.
