SHOPPERS at a Penhill convenience store have managed to boost the coffers of their local hospice by £600.

The money was raised as part of a scheme by McColls to donate a proportion of sales on some branded goods to good causes and they chose Prospect Hospice, which has a branch right nextdoor.

A delighted Lorraine Beaton, who manages the charity shop, said: “We are delighted to receive this generous donation from our friends and neighbours at McColl’s, which will go towards the care of patients and support for their families through the services of Prospect Hospice in the new year.

“The staff and volunteers at the shop have an excellent relationship with everyone from McColl’s – and of course we have customers who visit both shops – so we’re very pleased that they have chosen to support the charity that gives this shop its purpose.

“Our thanks and best wishes go out to the team at McColl’s for their continuing success in 2018.”
