A Volkswagen had all four tyres slashed while parked at the Toothill Community Centre between midday on 31 December and 11.20am on 1 January.

A Vauxhall Tigra parked in the same area also had tyres slashed and was badly scratched during the evening of New Year’s Eve.

During the same time period, a Toyota Avensis parked in Alnwick was damaged with all four tyres slashed.
PC Steve Harding said: “We believe all these incidents are linked and are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour in the Toothill area overnight on New Year’s Eve to get in touch.

“These types of crimes are mindless and cause expense and inconvenience to the victims.”
