RESURFACING works will begin across Swindon this week, as council contractors head back to work.

According to Swindon Borough Council, the works will include planning and inlaying lengths of tired road.

This will improve the “running surface, skid resistance and extend the structural life of the carriageway”, they said.

The following roads will be affected:

  • Oakham Close, Toothill – with works expected between Monday, January 8 – Tuesday, January 9
  • Windrush Road, Greenmeadow – Thursday, January 11
  • The Broadway, Greenmeadow – Thursday, January 11 – Friday, January 12
  • Butts Road, Chiseldon – Tuesday, January 9 – Friday, January 12 and Monday, January 22 – Wednesday, January 24
  • Skinners Close, Hannington – Wednesday, January 10

The council said that notification boards on the relevant roads would inform residents of any changes to the work schedule.

“Dates may be revised according to current weather forecasts,” the council said.

Commuters will continue to face delays along Wootton Bassett Road and Kingshill Road. Work by Thames Water to repair a burst water main is expected to last until January 12 along Wootton Bassett Road, while Kingshill Road will be affected until January 26.
