Parish councillors have approved the purchase of a radio microphone.
The £120 kit would be used by South Swindon Parish Council chairman Chris Watts to record a monthly piece for Swindon 105.5 community radio station, councillors heard at a Tuesday night meeting.
The kit – which would be kept at the Broadgreen Community Centre – could also be used by other councillors and members of the community, clerk Joyce Holman said.
Liden-based Swindon 105.5 are expected to provide the software to edit the radio audio segments.
