A BRA-FITTER from Swindon took her search for love to Channel 4’s First Dates restaurant as she dined in front of the cameras with a fellow Disney superfan.

Jessica Bone, 25, put the memory of a broken heart behind her as she met James, an insurance broker from Cardiff, on a special episode of the dating show.

The Swindonian has 54 of the 56 Disney films on DVD and describes her dream man as being like Quasimodo. While Cupid's arrow didn't strike at the restaurant in London, she has since found a new flame after an internet date.

Jessica said: "It was a really good experience, I'm really glad that I did it and I'm really happy with how I was portrayed. I was more nervous about the fact it was a blind date and I didn't know who I was meeting than being on television. But he was absolutely lovely, there was nothing wrong with the guy, he just wasn't my cup of tea. We got on really well, we just had different outlooks on life and didn't quite click."

Waiting for frogs’ legs, Jessica broke the pre-meal nerves with a quip about her job in Debenhams, saying “boobs are like belly buttons – everybody has them”.

The singletons also bonded over Disney after it emerged they were both unabashed grown-up fans, with James having written a dissertation on the subject. Jessica has DVDs ranging from Snow White to Moana while James has watched Beauty and the Beast around 100 times.

Cutaways showed the town centre resident telling the fly-on-the-wall dating show how she was dumped on Valentine’s Day after her boyfriend cheated on her. Jessica admitted she had been “very much in love with him” and he had broken her heart, but she had “definitely moved on” from the episode. She is likely to have set tongues wagging in her home town with her admission that both her ex and his secret love were Debenhams employees.

James, 25, was also kept guessing, appearing unsure about his dining partner's signals and taste for frog meat. The hopeless romantic’s aspiration to be a Prince Charming character was further thrown into doubt when Jessica said there was a difference between sugary storylines and real life.

While the show ended without a fairytale ending, she met her current boyfriend through an internet date a week after the recording.
