SWINDON has taken a knocking from the latest series of popular BBC show Top Gear.
The relaunched show was back on our screens on Sunday night with their third episode from series 25 airing and this week had a Japanese flavour to the show.
This could only suggest that somewhere along the line Honda and Swindon would be mentioned.
Chris Harris, who is one of the presenters on the show was testing out the latest Honda Civic Type R. Although the Top Gear presenter seemed impressed with the car, he couldn’t help but point out where the vehicle was made.
“It’s not made in Japan at all, it’s made in... Swindon, there’s nothing wrong with Swindon but you just don’t really associate it with excitement do you?”
Then straight after this Harris pointed out another flaw in the car and that’s the design of it.
“Then of course there’s the way it looks, clearly its been designed only to appeal to children.”
It was only at the end of last year that the Honda Civic Type R won multiple awards from BBC Top Gear magazine Car of the Year awards, scooping up Hot Hatch of the Year, International Editors’ Car of the Year and the overall prize, Car of the Year.
Residents took to social media to share their views on the car.
