VICTIM SUPPORT will be among the organisations taking part in a special roadshow hosted by Wiltshire Police in Swindon this weekend.

The event will offer people a chance to raise local concerns and find out more about organisations including the Bobby Van Trust, trading standards and the police cadets.

Host PCSO Phil Day said: “It will be great to have loads of people come down and speak to us and our partners about concerns and matters that mean the most to them.

“On Sunday we will be joined by the Wheels Workshop, which is a local project that supports young adults with a passion for mechanics and motorbikes. It would be great to see some young people attend to find out more about how they can get involved.”

Alison Newnham, a case worker at Victim Support, said: “We are looking forward to working alongside other agencies in order to provide free, confidential and practical support to all residents affected by crime.

“We’re an independent charity, so you can talk to us whether or not you reported the crime to the police. It doesn’t matter when the crime took place – you can get our support at any time and for however long you need us.”

The roadshows are at Sussex Place car park from 9am to noon and Cavendish Square from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday and Morrison’s in Dorcan Way from 9.30am to 4pm on Sunday.
