PETER Andre will be coming to Swindon in July to perform at the MFor Festival.

The Mysterious Girl singer joins headliner Pixie Lott, ex-JLS star Aston Merrygold, ‘90s boyband 5ive, soul group Dave Finnigan’s Commitments, and local band The Tribe.

The MFor Festival is a new event that aims to bring big-name musical acts to Swindon while celebrating the tireless work of Britain’s military.

A funfair, facepainting stalls, and inflatables will keep the kids entertained.

Charities Walking With the Wounded and Combat Stress will raise money for army veterans.

The RAF 100 Stations charity motorbike ride will also be stopping off at the festival during its 4,000-mile journey around the UK.

The festival is the brainchild of Swindonian army veteran Graham Stobbs.

Earlier this year, he said: “We are investing in the local community and giving back to Swindon.

“It’s something that the people of Swindon can be proud of, they can enjoy their day at the festival while supporting those who need it.

“It will also give local artists a chance to show off what they can do.”

Swindon Borough Council confirmed that they have given the festival’s organisers a premises licence and granted permission for the festival to go ahead.

The music festival and family fun day will be held at Lydiard Park on Saturday July 28.

Tickets are now on sale and more acts will be announced in the coming months.
