TASTY beer and cider, trains and a bank holiday weekend what more could one ask for from the 12th Swindon and Cricklade Railway Real Ale and Cider Festival.

The annual event returns to Blunsdon Station today for three days,with entertainment provided on each day by live bands.

The family-friendly festival will run from 11am to 11pm on Saturday and Sunday and from 11am to 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

As well as 17 real ales and 10 ciders from all over England, there are snacks, soft drinks, tea and coffee, all available at the festival.

Visitors can also hop onto the heritage steam trains, including favourite Swordfish, for a ride along the railway from the station, which is Wiltshire’s only standard gauge heritage railway.

Trains will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm on all three days,

The event is sponsored by the Three Castles Brewery.

Adrian Brodie, organiser, said: “I am looking forward to seeing a lot of old faces but also some new ones.

"It is a great experience for everyone.”
