COURT: Christopher Desantos avoided jail after he admitted stealing almost £180 of meat from the One Stop Shop in Pinehurst. The 29-year-old, of Lilac Court, stole more than £90-worth in two incidents on May 1 after taking £87-worth 10 days earlier. Swindon magistrates handed down a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months, a £107 compensation order and a £115 victim surcharge.
COURT: A teen who caused more than £225 of damage to a door at New College has been given a youth offender contract for four months. The 17-year-old was ordered to pay £150 compensation by Swindon Youth Court.
