TONIGHT hundreds of runners will be taking part in the annual Lethbridge 10k.
Returning for its 23rd year, the sold-out race will see 500 people being put to the challenge to raise £4,000 to help fund the school library.
It is organised by a committee of volunteers to raise money for Lethbridge Primary School and starts from Croft Sports Centre at 7.30pm, continuing along the Old Town railway path down towards the finish line in Mannington.
Roger Bryan the race director said: “This is a great community event in the middle of Old Town Festival.
“The run has grown in popularity over the years and I now see so many more people running which grabs peoples interest in this event.
Local businesses are supporting the event, supplying water, medals, parking and prizes.
The winner takes home a bottle of wine and a prize from Deacons Jewellers as well as having their name engraved on a trophy.
Tonight’s youngest runner is Regan Fleming who is 15-years-old. The oldest is Judy Sheppard, 74.
