A bereavement charity has received £5,385 in donations thanks to hard-working fundraisers.

Colleagues at The Midcounties Co-operative in Swindon held fundraising activities in support of the hospice including a row-a-thon, which saw 25 colleagues from the Old Town, Crossways and Beachcroft stores cycle and row over 237 miles in 12 hours.

Dean Mason, a leadership team ambassador in Swindon at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “Since January, colleagues in Swindon have completed over 400 volunteering hours and taken part in some great fundraising activities. We’re proud to have raised such an impressive amount.

“The local groups and charities we support are incredibly valuable to the community. They offer a range of support to those who need it most.”

Chair of Trustees at Wiltshire Treehouse Sue Ward said: “We’re very grateful to The Midcounties Co-operative and its fundraising efforts. Thanks to this generation donation, we will be able to support more people in the area.”

Wiltshire Treehouse, The Midcounties Co-operative’s charity partner in Swindon, offers bereavement support to children, young people and their families after they have lost a loved one.

It offers therapy sessions conducted by trained professionals to help those under 25 who are grieving. The donations will enable the charity to expand its service across Wiltshire.
