POLICE were called to reports of a fight outside the Woodlands Edge pub after England’s World Cup defeat.

There were suggestions that a flare had been thrown, with video shared on social media showing a burning light in a car park in front of the pub.

A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said the force had received reports of a disturbance at Woodlands Edge pub, which had dispersed by the time police officers arrived. There was no information about flares being thrown, she added.

The Woodlands Edge pub was in the news at the end of June when trouble flared-up after England’s qualifier clash against Belgium.

Police were called to the pub on Midwinter Close, Peatmoor, at 8.45pm to clear fighting in the area. Hooligans damaged a TV in the pub, threw bottles and lit flares outside the Woodlands Edge.
