THE boss of the Royal International Air Tattoo has vowed that the traffic problems that plagued the opening day of this year's air show will not happen tomorrow.

RIAT CEO Andy Armstrong spoke to BBC Wiltshire earlier this afternoon to apologise and explain what had caused such immense traffic chaos.

He said: "One of the designated routes didn't work as well as it should have.

"One issue suddenly spread into another -for example, we had 8,000 schoolchildren in over 100 coaches here.

"We asked them to come after 10am, which many of them did, but having had other issues earlier that day, things started backing up and then we had coaches there too.

"We are professional at what we do and I'm absolutely certain that things will work perfectly tomorrow."
