The Franck Carducci Band, famed for its costumes, psychedelic atmosphere, humour and sensuality, touches down in Swindon for a concert at The Victoria on Saturday night.

Head to the pub in Victoria Road and immerse yourself in the experience, enjoy the spectacle and let yourself go on a journey into a colourful, flamboyant and fun musical universe, which is open and accessible to all.

The psychedelic rockers, from Lyon in France, were awarded Best Overseas Band by the UK’s Classic-Rock Society magazine and have released two albums, Oddity and Torn Apart.

Carducci, singer and master of ceremonies, leads the rock ‘n’ roll circus and plays bass and twelve-string guitar. He is joined by Christophe Obadia on electric guitar, didgeridoo and bass-pedal, Olivier Castan on keyboards, Mary Reynaud on theremin, rainstick, tambourine and vocals, Nino Reina on drums and backing vocals, and Steve Marsala on electric and acoustic guitars and backing vocals.

A musician and composer from an early age, Carducci grew up in a musical family and was influenced in his youth by bands such as Pink Floyd and Genesis.

Expect plenty of drama and marvellous music. The band reckon you won’t want to leave until the very last note of the concert and declare, with characteristic flamboyance, that your senses will not be given a second of rest while they take you to a place where dreams are kings, emotions are queens and musical genres are crossed with no borders.

The support act is Wilding, whose first single My Backwards Head got airplay on Radio 2. Doors open at 8.30pm. Tickets are £10-£12. Visit thevicswindon.com.
