Swindon Academy of Street Dance is one of the youth groups appearing at this year’s Phoenix Festival.

The free music and arts festival first took to the stage in 2013, in the historic setting of The Abbey Grounds, in Cirencester, and continues to grow with around 15,000 people attending each year.

It now boasts two main stages with more than 40 acts. The festival was initially the idea of the Ozone Youth Partnership in Cirencester and is supported by Cirencester Town Council and Cirencester Community Development Trust and volunteers!

Joining the Swindon dancers on August 25 and August 26 are Abba tribute band Arrival, Flash paying homage to Queen, Cirencester Creative Dance Academy, the Phoenix Flames and Minety Dance Theatre School Young Performers.

Organiser Judy Mills said: “We are thrilled to have a full and varied programme for the arena this year. It is a great space for a variety of arts as well a some audience participation.’’

The Let’s Play Music is specifically for less experienced musicians of all ages and hopes to inspire musicians to showcase their talents. For more details of the festival visit info@phoenix-festival.co.uk
