Two founder members of Swindon’s 80s pop stars XTC are going back on the

road.

It’s the first time Colin Moulding, bass and vocals and drummer Terry Chambers will play onstage together for 36 years.

An they are starting in their native Swindon.

The pair last played live together as members of XTC in San Diego, California, on the group’s English Settlement Tour cut short by lead singer and songwriter Andy Partridge’s mental health.

The band continued recording for another decade but never toured again.

Recently Colin Moulding, who wrote the group’s first three hits, including Making Plans for Nigel, and Terry Chambers got together with a new group TC&I and have announced a mini-residency at the Wyvern Theatre.

Colin told udiscovermusic.com: “These dates are probably commensurate with our output thus far.

“We’re not going to do the usual promoters’ circuit.

“Besides it’s kind of special this way. Like a stationary West End show or something,”

Terry added: “Exciting times. 18 months ago, I couldn’t see this happening.

“I’m as excited about these gigs as I was in 1973 playing our first gig at the Arts Centre Swindon as a 17-year Helium Kid, and the first time to be playing with Colin together on stage since San Diego,”

TC&I will play at the Wyvern Theatre on 29, 30 and 31 October and 1 November.
