According to BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, Bad Sounds, do not live up to their name, as she made their song, Wages, the hottest record in the world last year and their track, Avalanche, her tune of the week.

2017 was a good year for the hip-hop, rock band from Bath as they played at Bestival and Glastonbury rock festivals and they notched up nearly half a million Spotify streams.

Brothers Ewan and Callum Merrett are the vocalists in the band with Ewan also tinkling the ivories on keyboards. Ewan studied creative music technology at Bath Spa. Charlie Pitt is the bass guitarist, Sam Hunt is the lead guitarist and Olivia Dimery is on drums. They are managed by the same company as Placebo and Wild Beasts.

Bad Sounds are hitting the road this August to do a meet and greet with their fans in a series of intimate, in-store shows to mark the release of their debut album, Get Better, which is out on August 17. They will be dropping into Sound Knowledge at Hughenden Square, Marlborough on Wednesday, August 22 at 6.30pm. They'll be playing a short set at Café Thirty8 from 7pm before signing copies of the album in the shop.

One of the main musical influences acknowledged by the brothers is that of the rock band, Beck, mainly because their father was a huge fan and constantly played their songs.
