Hairdressing salon Karoliina Saunders Hair Design is celebrating three nominations in the finals of the 2018 National Hairdressers’ Federation Business awards.

As well as being named finalist in the Best Community category, the salon in Sheep Street, Highworth, is also a finalist in Best Independent Salon and, apprentice, Jordy Barlow is a finalist in Best Apprentice.

The results come at a time when the salon has already enjoyed competition success, having won the Best Education category at the national Salon Business awards earlier this year.

Karoliina said: “Reaching the finals in an incredible achievement in itself but to feature in three categories is outstanding.

“As a team we have worked hard to earn our place in the Community and Best Independent Salon categories and, as for the Best Apprentice place, that’s all down to our fabulous apprentice, Jordy Barlow.”

The team says their commitment to the community has helped them reach the finals.

As a group their efforts to raise cash for Highworth based, Gloucester House, a rehabilitation centre for people with drug and alcohol problems, raised £1,600.

Stylist Georgina Kemnitz-Pryor undertook a sponsored head shave and all the team got involved by manning a pop up braiding tent and organising other fund raising initiatives.

National Hairdressers’ Federation President, Agnes Leonard, said : “What a fantastic achievement for Karoliina Saunders Hair Design to be announced as finalists.

“We launched our awards last year to recognise the success of some of the best businesses in the hair and beauty industry. We didn’t think the entries could get any better, but this year they have gone from strength-to-strength.”

As the only salon in the UK to be shortlisted in three categories, Karoliina and her team are celebrating their success, but are eagerly awaiting the finals in Manchester in November.
