JURYS INN in Swindon has finished refurbishing hundreds of its rooms to the tune of £2 million.

The hotel on Fleming Way has now completed the revamp of all 229 of its bedrooms including 25 executive rooms, which have been given a more contemporary look with a brick-wall effect and lighter wooden décor.

New general manager Hazel Galloway, who recently took over the reigns of the chain hotel, said: “I’m excited to join the staff and reveal our new look. We are delighted with the results of the work and can’t wait to welcome returning and new visitors.”

Hazel, originally from South Lanarkshire, Scotland, brings experience working for the chain across the UK.

She started working for the firm in Aberdeen, before moving to Glasgow and later the Jurys in Bradford.

When asked how they compared Hazel said: “Yorkshire and Bradford in particular has a great community vibe, having been here a week I feel the same culture in Swindon.

"Everyone is so welcoming in the town, so I think settling in will be easy”.

“It’s exciting to discover a new town and meet people. Swindon is known as a friendly and warm town, with plenty of glorious countryside nearby,” she said.

“I really enjoy shopping so being near the Swindon Designer Outlet will be great. The outlet is just a short walk from the hotel, so I’m sure guests will sharAe my enthusiasm for its convenient location.

“I can’t wait to meet locals and visitors alike.”

The £20m hotel opened its doors in 2009, bringing 80 jobs to the town, aiming to attract a wider business audience into Swindon with seven dedicated conference rooms and a four-minute walk to Swindon train station.

Jurys Inn is a member of the Fattal Group which owns 160 hotels in 16 countries, including the operating platform for all 36 hotels within the Jurys Inn portfolio.
