A COVINGHAM school will be honouring the centenary of the First World War's conclusion in November.
Covingham Park Primary School will host a commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of the end of World War One on Saturday November 3.
A pop-up museum will be set up in the school halls for visitors to peruse.
On the day, there will be exhibitions of local objects and stories.
English Heritage will be giving a talk on the history of the war.
The canteen will serve period-appropriate drinks and cakes.
Dining rooms will be decorated and staged to match the decor of early 20th century dining rooms.
There will also be a raffle and a poignant poppy display.
The commemorative exhibition will be free for all to enter and enjoy, and will last from 11am to 5pm.
The event has been organised in conjunction with the Swindon Community Library Trust and Covingham Parish Council.
It is of many events which are being held in Swindon and around the country this November to honour those who fought in the First World War.
