THE Stratton Autumn Fayre returned for a second successful year on Saturday.

The fields by Grange Leisure community centre were full of funfair rides and stalls for families to enjoy.

Andrena Rhodes and her two daughters Jessica, 6, and Olivia, 9, were having a great time.

Andrea said: “We’re all enjoying it.

“It brings the community together - our neighbours are here with us, too.

“Grange Leisure host a lot of events like this for Stratton residents, which is great.

“There were some nice arts and crafts activities inside, and the kids have loved the bungee, bumper cars, and donkey rides.

“It’s really lovely to see lots of local Stratton things here too.”

Beechcroft Library was one of the local groups which had set up a stall there, manned by volunteers Lynette and David.

Lynette said: “It’s definitely worth coming to these events and making our presence known.

“We’ve had a lot of interest from people about our upcoming events, so it’s been a good day.

“We’ve sold plenty of donated second-hand books and jigsaw puzzles, with all the money going to Friends of Beechcroft Library.”
